New Shooter
We are pleased to announce the development of our official New Shooter Orientation Course. This course has been developed by Mr. Jim Jackson with input from the IDPA Canada Area Contacts and me. This will be the only certified New Shooter Orientation Course (NSOC) to be offered to our new shooters. The course fee is $5.00 per student plus any fees the club chooses to impose to cover the cost of materials such as targets, pastors or range fees. No fees are to be charged for the benefit of the Instructor.
- IDPA certified Safety Officer Instructors
- Approved IDPA Safety Officers (Clubs that do not have a resident Safety Officer Instructor are to recommend to their Area Contact or Area Coordinator - Canada one of their Safety Officers as their instructor for the course).

IDPA Training New Shooter Handbook
This booklet is a useful resource for shooters new to IDPA. It gives a brief rundown of the rules, range commands, and equipment that is used in IDPA events. It also gives tips and hints to first time shooters as well as various drills to help improve shooting skills.
